Pakistani education fintech startup EduFi has made history by securing first place at the LEAP 2025 competition held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the prestigious four-day tech conference. The innovative startup triumphed over 2,000 competitors, winning a $250,000 cash prize for its groundbreaking approach to student financing. EduFi simplifies the loan process by conducting its own credit evaluations, covering tuition costs for eligible students, and offering flexible repayment options during their studies.
The startup’s success at the Rocket Fuel Pitch Competition, which featured a platform for startups to pitch their ideas to global investors, marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first Pakistani startup to claim victory in this international contest. EduFi’s founder and CEO, Aleena Nadeem, an MIT graduate with experience at top-tier institutions like McKinsey and Goldman Sachs, accepted the award at the Riyadh ceremony. In 2024, Nadeem was also recognized in Forbes’ prestigious 30 Under 30 Asia list, cementing her position as a leading force in education and fintech innovation.
