    April 4, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

In a historic milestone for Pakistan’s automotive sector, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan (HACPL) has successfully initiated vehicle exports, sending its first batch of 40 Honda CITY 1.2L units to Japan. This landmark achievement marks a significant step toward Pakistan’s integration into the global automotive market.

The launch ceremony took place at the HACPL plant, attended by key government and industry leaders. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, served as the chief guest, joined by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, Mr. Saif Anjum, and the CEO of the Engineering Development Board, Mr. Khuda Baksh Ali.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Industries and Production, HACPL’s first-ever export of Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicles demonstrates the company’s commitment to world-class manufacturing standards. This move also lays the foundation for future expansion into additional international markets.

SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan praised Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan for achieving this significant breakthrough in the country’s automotive industry. He noted that the successful export to Japan highlights Pakistan’s growing potential as a reliable automotive manufacturing and export hub. “The government is committed to supporting the automotive sector with favorable policies and infrastructure development. This achievement underscores Pakistan’s increasing capability in the international automotive industry, in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of an export-driven and sustainable industrial economy,” Mr. Khan stated.

HACPL President & CEO, Mr. Takafumi Koike, spoke at the event, emphasizing Honda’s focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability. He noted that exporting to Japan, a highly competitive market, is a testament to the improvements in Pakistan’s manufacturing standards.

HACPL Chairman, Mr. Aamir H. Shirazi, also acknowledged the government’s support in fostering a business-friendly environment and encouraged further policy measures to enhance local production and boost exports.

Honda’s entry into the export market ushers in a new era for Pakistan’s automotive industry. It holds the potential to attract more investment, create job opportunities, and drive industrial growth. This achievement not only represents a success for Honda Atlas but also serves as a promising indicator of Pakistan’s evolving economic position on the global stage.
